Part memoir, part socio-educational treatise, part guidebook, Tending the Roots in a STEM-Crazed World poured out in a flash-flood when I retired from 21 years of classroom teaching in 2021. It is my offering, as grateful witness in an increasingly left-brained, heart-hardening world, to the healing power of making poems.
 
This is a work-in-progress, which I am releasing as an uncorrected pre-publication pdf, primarily for educators, in hopes that it will move around and find its readers... inspiring new ideas, methods, & creative climates in the classroom & beyond. I welcome feedback at this stage and thank you for being an early reader of this labor of love. 
 
177 pages in two parts; with 47 Gleanings taken directly from classroom experience, where my students have been the teachers.
